Foster Responsibilities

Fostering with MeoowzResQ means providing a temporary home where a kitten or cat can stay safe, healthy, and socialized until they find their forever family. Fosters must reside in or around Orange County or the Riverside area. We cover all medical costs — including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, flea treatment, deworming, and other basic medical needs.

As a foster, you are responsible for:

Providing a safe, comfortable space: Food, fresh water, a clean litter box, and a secure area in your home.
Food and litter costs: Fosters are generally expected to cover food and litter, though we cover those costs when a kitty comes from a high-kill shelter.
Health monitoring: Watch for changes in appetite, behavior, or condition and notify the office with any concerns.
Socialization: Regular handling and interaction to help your kitty become comfortable with people and ready for adoption.
Promotion and events: Submit photos and a bio to our Advertising Team and bring your kitty to weekend Adoption Events whenever possible.
Communication: Keep the office informed about your kitty’s health, status, and event availability.
